Let each of us examine his thoughts; he will find them wholly concerned with the past or the future. We almost never think of the present, and if we do think of it, it is only to see what light it throws on our plans for the future. The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means; the future is our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.-Blaise Pascal

Anything Worth Saying
By Aaron Shust
my savior my God
see related

“I AM!”

I am a person of unique worth.

I can have a relationship with the eternal God and the whole of reality of which He has created me to be a part.

I live in a fallen world and it affects me in different ways.

I expect and understand that.

I can be realistic about the truth about myself and my sinful fallen nature.

I don’t feel guilty about enjoying the whole of life; be it a beach at sunset, sexual enjoyment in marriage, food, a good book, a play, or work.

I am.

I am finite, I can’t know it all or do it all- but I am God’s child.

I am dependant.

Yet, He trusts me, lets me have responsibility and abundant life.

I accept my freedom within his laws.

My perspectives are not limited by this side of death.

I am born to live eternally and my destination is not limited to my college education, my salary, or what other people think.

I am, in a sense, alone before God.

He gave me my own separate life, and He will direct me into the right path for me.

That is my aim, my ambition.

- No More

"No More"

From the womb to the world

from the world to the grave

from the grave to the heavens and my spirit
From the liquor to the drugs

to the police and the thugs

to my prayers and hope that He hears it
Little kids in the street

Never sleep never eat

Carry burdens of their mommas' and the papas'

To the hell on this Earth

Gettin' hot gettin' worse

Cause were cursed and nothin can stop us
Take a look see the sights that I've seen

See the lust See the greed, jealousy, and killin'
Walk the walk that I've walked

All alone in the dark overtaken by this feelin' that I'm feelin'

John 5:24
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent  me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

Psalm 34:22
The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.

Psalm 27:1
.The LORD is my light and my salvation ;whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Is this all there is cause I don't want it no more

 John 14:6
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 1:4
In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

Got to stay focused

keep your mind on your dreams
Don't get hypnotized by the bling

deep inside you must believe and you'll succeed
Cause all we're given is a chance

They play the music and we dance

And ain't no way to make it last

if we don't stop and listen
It could be over in a flash

John 10:28
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

Psalm 16:11
You make known to me the path of life;in your presence there is fullness of joy;at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Is this all there is cause I don't want it no more

Job 33:4
The Spirit of God has made me,and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

From my soul to my heart

From the ending to the start

In between it's an art and I live it

From one person to the next

All respect -no regrets

If you next you got it then give it
Share a hug

Share the love

we can rise up above

If we try we can fly up to the heavens
All my brothers and my sisters we can make it if we listen to each other and just keep on

John 3:36
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

Job 11:17
And your life will be brighter than the noonday; its darkness will be like the morning.

Psalm 23:6
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORDforever.

Is this all there is cause I don't want it no more

And I can feel this change comin'

You are quite original. When people don't "get" you, it bothers you a lot.

Your strength: Your ability to gain respect

Your weakness: Caring too much what others think

Your power color: Orange-red

Your power symbol: Letter X

Your power month: October

What Does Your Birth Date Mean?

***Your Personality Is***

Rational (NT)

You are both logical and creative. You are full of ideas.
You are so rational that you analyze everything. This drives people a little crazy!

Intelligence is important to you. You always like to be around smart people.
In fact, you're often a little short with people who don't impress you mentally.

You seem distant to some - but it's usually because you're deep in thought.
Those who understand you best are fellow Rationals.

In love, you tend to approach things with logic. You seek a compatible mate - who is also very intelligent.

At work, you tend to gravitate toward idea building careers - like programming, medicine, or academia.

With others, you are very honest and direct. People often can't take your criticism well.

As far as your looks go, you're coasting on what you were born with. You think fashion is silly.

On weekends, you spend most of your time thinking, experimenting with new ideas, or learning new things.

Ok....so 3 months later....

Howdy ya'll! I am now officially done with my first year of college and it feels amazing! I have learned so much and have grown in so many ways this past school year. I'm so thankful for all the challenges, blessings, and new people, places, and ideas that I've experienced. God has brought me a long way and taught me so much...

Here are some of the lessons that I've learned this year:

1. that God is so faithful no matter what and that He knows what he's doing.

2. that each and every person is precious and unique, that we all possess dignity because we are created in the image of God, that our idividuality deserves to be respected and that labeling people is not only useless but disrespectful.

3. that how i love others is so crucial to being a Christian....dare i say that it's the most important thing?

4. that life is more than school- i knew this but now it's perfectly solidified in my mind. My purpose in this world doesn't in any way rest on my grades, my success according to the standards of this world or the standards of others. School is there to serve its purpose- the purpose of fulfilling one of societies demands on us and then supposedly the purpose of "educating" which will only happen if you make it happen...in some places it'll be more of a challenge than others but the pursuit is so worth it. Education is the communication of one soul to another and it shapes in every way who you are and who you will become. I could say so much more

5. that I am really interested in education- in a very unorthodox way. I dearly enjoy debating the theories of education with my good old buddies Kilpatrick, Hirsch, Gatto, Peterson, and Berry...you should discover them sometime because i think education is not a subject that's only the concern of teachers. Knowing the purpose of education and understanding your role in this lifelong pursuit is next to understanding your purpose in this life. Haha...so maybe that sounds a little extreme...it's not. just ask me about it sometime.

6. that being from the South is so sweet!!

7. that northerners have NO idea what the civil war was REALLY about (state's rights!) and they have never heard of the War of Northern Aggression. It's really fun to explain to them the way things ARE.

8. that Northerners end their sentences with prepositions and it bothers me.

9. that economics- while it may be common sense is one of the biggest wastes of my life ever.

10. that I am a selective learner- i think this comes from being homeschooled! yikes! I only like to learn and put time towards something that I deem useful and beneficial in my educational pursuit of becoming and complete person....this can be a problem. Note to the file!

11. that i am, at times, a very unstable person!!!

12. the my TIME is not my own. I am often far too selfish with my time considering all the demands that are placed upon it. At the end of the day tho, people are the most important thing and relationships are what life is all about.

13. that honesty is essential.

14. that having fun is sooooooo much fun

15. to live life with passion- waking up every morning and anticipating what God has for me today because, while today could be my last or just one out of many, we never know what God has for us and we need to be excited about all that He has.

16. to not waste time because basically...life's too SHORT for that.

17. to embrace change

18. to not hold back because there are times for caution and times to let go and let God.

19. that I am deeply dependant upon and in love with Jesus Christ and I desire to serve Him with whatever days He gives me.

20. that I also love and appreciate my friends and the people He has blesed me with.

The gate is wide
The road is paved in moderation
The crowd is kind and quick to pull you in
Welcome to the middle ground
It's safe and sound and
Until now it's where I've been

Cuz it's been fear
That ties me down to everything
But it's been love, Your love
That cuts the strings

So long, status quo
I think I've just let go
You make me wanna be brave
The way it always was
It's no longer good enough
You make me wanna be brave
Brave, brave

I am small
And I speak when I'm spoken to
But I am willing to risk it all
I say Your name
Just Your name, and I'm ready to jump
Even ready to fall

Why did I
Take this vow of compromise?
Why did I
Try to keep it all inside?

I've never known a fire that didn't begin with a flame
And every storm will start with just a drop of rain
But if You believe in me
That changes everything

-Brave
